Produce on our table still warm from the garden sun. Milk, ice cream, butter and cheese delivered fresh to us from local dairies. Area livestock raised with care to yield healthy meats and poultry of high quality. These are foods our guests know and trust. Foods that don't just feel like home... foods that are from home.
Parkhurst Dining Services goal is to purchase at least 30 percent of our food from local farmers, growers cooperatives and producers, when local products are in season. Our guests enjoy fresh, wholesome foods while we support and strengthen the local agricultural community.
FarmSource is an initiative to find and partner with some of the finest local growers and producers of food in our communities where we do business. This program is designed to enhance the freshness and quality of our product offerings without compromising our commitment to food safety.
The FarmSource program utilizes suppliers and growers that follow the high standards set by the local health departments, the state Department of Agriculture, FDA and other regulatory agencies. FarmSource does not mean we purchase products from local farmers' markets. It is a program that selects and monitors local farms with the best practices and safest handling programs so that we serve only the finest ingredients.
